Introduction

You know that your online course has a teacher. But how do you get in touch with your teacher? Should you use text? Phone? Skype? Bat signal?

Your teacher will not always work at the same time as you do. Because you do not always work at the same time, your primary method of communication is email. In this lesson, we will go over the D2L email tool, netiquette, and communication expectations.

Lesson Objectives

Following successful completion of this lesson, students will be able to...

  • Compose and send an email
  • Demonstrate appropriate netiquette and grammar in email communications

Essential Questions

  • How should I communicate with my teachers?

Enduring Understandings

  • I know my teacher wants me to log in, communicate, and work hard each day.

The above objectives correspond with Quality Matters standards: 1.3 and 1.4
