Visual Arts Introduction

If you do, did you realize that you are actually reflecting on and understanding the impact that line, shape, form, color, texture, space and value are having on your preferences, decisions, and choices in your daily life?
It is important to understand how artists and designers utilize the Elements of Art and the Principles of Design in their work and how these affect the way we view and appreciate the things around us.
Visual images, textures, colors, and ideas abound. They are everywhere and we respond to them both consciously and subconsciously. Visual art influences our everyday life. Whether it is the design of a cereal box, advertising on television or bill boards, a quilt that your grandmother made, the desks you use or even the pencil you write with, it affects our lives in many ways!
