Introduction

Now that you've been introduced to the scientific method and measurements, let's move on to another very important topic — matter!

Look around you. What do you see? Pick something from your surroundings that you would classify as matter.

You may be in a computer lab like this one.

Matter is anything that has mass and takes up space. Whatever you selected from your surroundings is most likely matter! In the next two lessons, we will learn what matter is and how matter is classified into different groups based on certain characteristics.
